A welfare Mother living in HUD subsided project based section 8 housing. She became employed by the City of Ft. Lauderdale Police Department in an on the job training program which would lead to her becoming a Community Service Aide (CSA). Because she lived in the "projects" she was asked by the chief of police to get the communication going between the police and the black resident community to help prevent and get rid of the crime. Her decision to organize resident councils and neighborhood associations would prove to be a great solution after many recognition and employee of the month and year awards would follow from the community and the City of Ft Lauderdale.
